Vipul Nagar

Vipul Nagar completed his M.Sc. (Tech.) in Geophysics from Banaras Hindu University in Year 2000. Before Joining NHPC in 2004, he worked at prestigious institutions like NGRI, Hyderabad and Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, Mumbai, where he worked on Groundwater exploration & Management, Magnetotelluric, GDS and co-seismic studies. In NHPC, he specializes in engineering geophysical techniques involving data acquisition, processing and analysis for various hydroelectric projects. Actively involved in preparation of more than seventy five geophysical reports including Seismic Refraction, Resistivity Imaging, MASW, Inclinometer monitoring studies, Blast vibration monitoring, Tunnel Seismic Prediction, etc. in NHPC. Apart from Geophysical assignments, he is also involved in seismological studies such as Micro-earthquake studies and maintenance of Real Time Seismic Data Center established at NHPC Corporate Office, Faridabad. He is also instrumental in utilizing Remote Sensing and GIS techniques for geotechnical investigations and topographical survey of hydroelectric projects located in rough and in-accessible Himalayan terrain. Presently, he is heading Geotechnical Remote Sensing Lab established in NHPC Limited Corporate Office, Faridabad. He has authored more than twenty technical papers in various national and international forums.
