Somnath Chattopadhyaya

Somnath Chattopadhyaya has received his B.E degree in Production Engg. from Jadavpur University in 1992, M.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT(ISM) in 1999 and PhD degree in Production Engg. from BIT-Mesra in 2005. He is presently working as Associate Professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering and Professor in Charge of online Continuing Education Programme of Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. He is the author of 101 articles in SCIE indexed journals and guided 18 PhD Scholars leading to their award of the degrees. He is also the author of five books and three book chapters. He was the recipient of one Canara bank award for the best researcher and two best paper awards in international conferences held in Europe in two occasions. He has 8 years of industrial experience and 23 years of teaching and research experience. He is also the PI and the Co-PI of some projects from AICTE, UGC, Ministry of Power, DST, DRDO.
