Rajinder Bhasin

Dr. Rajinder Bhasin has a doctoral degree in Rock Engineering from the University of Oslo in Norway and is Technical Expert at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI). He has extensive experience as a Project Leader for several large infrastructure projects in Scandinavia including design of nuclear waste repositories in U.K. and Sweden. He is actively working in South and South East Asian countries including Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal and Bhutan. These projects are related to hydropower construction, transportation links and natural disaster mitigation. Dr. Bhasin has worked for more than 20 years at NGI on various challenging projects including World's Largest Underground Stadium where he performed engineering geological mapping and geotechnical logging. His speciality includes engineering geological characterisation of rock mass and numerical modelling for predicting ground instability. He has published over 100 papers in international journals, scientific magazines and in conference proceedings.
